The School Safety Expo is a free, in-person event designed to equip educators, law enforcement,
emergency responders, and school leaders with actionable tools for building safe and supportive
school environments.

Learn from dynamic speakers, explore best practices, and gain insights into the latest safety
strategies. Strengthen your network and your protocols—register today.

Attendees will engage in specialized instructional tracks across four key areas:

Health & Wellness — Explore practical strategies that support the physical and mental well-being
of students and staff. Topics include prevention initiatives, mental health awareness, self-care
practices, trauma-informed approaches, and building healthier school communities.

Emergency Management & Operations — Gain actionable insights on school safety planning and
crisis response. This track covers operational readiness, safety audits, threat response,
communication strategies, cybersecurity, and proven methods for managing emergencies at the
campus and district level.

Culture, Climate & Community — Discover ways to create a more inclusive, respectful, and
supportive learning environment. Sessions focus on behavior management, restorative practices,
community engagement, positive school culture, and interventions that promote student success
and safety.

Law, Policy & Finance — Stay informed on the evolving legal and financial landscape of school
safety. Learn about current policies, funding opportunities, legal obligations, and how to navigate
compliance while building sustainable, effective safety programs.

The Region 4 Dr. Rod Paige School Safety Award honors
outstanding leadership, innovation, and dedication to creating
safe learning environments. We are thrilled to celebrate the
inaugural award recipients: Goose Creek ISD, Pasadena ISD,
Spring Branch ISD, and Waller ISD, whose exceptional
commitment to school safety set a high standard for
excellence

This prestigious recognition is awarded to individuals, teams,
and districts that go above and beyond to protect students
and staff. Award recipients are evaluated based on their
impactful safety initiatives, collaboration with key stakeholders,
and commitment to best practices. Submissions require a
detailed nomination form and an After Action Review (AAR)
report to highlight measurable success in school safety.
