July 17 @ 9:00 am
Are you looking for ways to build your capacity as a social studies educator and discover ways to unlock your students’ full potential? This intensive summit will equip you with practical strategies to implement and/or support effective, evidence-based best practices in your social studies classroom. We invite all K-12 Social Studies teachers, instructional leaders, and administrators to join us for this collaborative and interactive professional learning experience. By attending, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of key pedagogical approaches, develop actionable strategies for your classroom, and leave inspired to create engaging and effective learning experiences for ALL Social Studies students.
Summit Focus:
- CBLI (Content-Based Language Instruction): Integrate language development into your Social Studies curriculum to enhance student comprehension and communication skills.
- Lesson Internalization: Explore a process to help teachers better understand any lesson’s content and how to teach it.
- Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Learn how to create more inclusive and accessible learning experiences for all students by incorporating UDL principles into your lesson planning.
- Evidence-Based Writing and Discussion: Equip students with the skills to analyze primary sources, construct sound arguments, and effectively communicate their understanding through well-supported written work and oral discussion.
